Born in New York City to theatrical parents who met and married in summer stock, Kathi worked as a professional model and actress since childhood. Her first acting job came in a Armed Forces Network radio drama in 1958, when she played a young Juliet Lowe, the founder of Girl Scouts. She received her BA in Theatre Arts at Florida State University in 1974. Since moving to California in 1981, she has appeared in plays in northern and southern California. She joined SAG in 1985 when she had a leading role in “Sour Grapes” a feature film starring Richard Gilliland, Jamie Farr, and Rich Little. A member of Actors Equity since 1988, her acting credits include stage, film and television. In 2005 she created the lead role of Mary Beth in the world premiere of “Munched,” by Kim Porter, which won a Patte Award for "Best New Play of 2005." In 2009, she created the roles of Aunt Sarah and Hegelstein in a new play based on Grace Paley stories, “Acts of Faith” at the Tenth Avenue Playhouse in San Diego. Kathi continues to participate in staged readings.
